Annual Tickets
These are available on the day at the ticket kiosk or can be bought
from our online shop. The holder will have access to the Gardens
for one year during normal opening times.

Travelling to Great
Dixter
The House and Gardens are located in Northiam approximately three
quarters of a mile off of the A28, which runs through the village.

By Train: the nearest train stations
with connecting buses to Northiam are Rye, and Hastings. Timetable

buses run directly to Northiam (Monday to Saturday) from
Rye, Hastings and Tenterden. No buses on Sundays. Timetable information

Map above. The carparks at Great Dixter are free to visitors. No
over night parking.
Dogs
We only allow guide dogs in the gaden. Dogs on leads are welcome
in the carparks.

The Gift Shop - and Refreshments
Our Shop offers a selection of quality gardening
tools and sundries as used in the garden. Books by Christopher
Lloyd and many other authors. Carefully chosen gifts, greetings
cards, postcards and stationery. Light refreshments, hot and cold
drinks and ice-creams are available all day with seating in the
Gift Shop garden.
Accessibility
We welcome disabled visitors to the House
& Gardens. Please see the plan for details of layout and accessibility

Parking
Level access to garden, over grass and track. Disabled drivers may
park near ticket office; disabled passengers may be set down at
ticket office before car is parked in car park.
Garden
Hardened paths, slopes with some ramps. Steps at a number of points
may be difficult; see attached map.
House
Good access to ground floor, the Great Hall and Parlour. Access
to the Solar via steep stairs with handrail. Access to the Benenden
Hall has five steps and handrail. A folder containing photographs
and descriptive text of all the Benenden Hall and Solar is available.
Shop
Access possible, level surface. Hot and cold drinks, snacks etc
available at gift shop. Picnic tables available. Level access.
Lavatories
Adapted WCs on level ground near ticket office.
Wheelchairs
Two wheelchairs available, please contact office in advance to secure
booking on 01797 252878 during weekday office hours. Route maps
provided for wheelchair users.
Mobility Vehicles
Some areas of the garden are suitable for small mobility vehicles.The
staff will be happy to help you should you encounter difficulties
during your visit.
