Behind the scenes at Great Dixter – November
Great Dixter is a garden that delights and challenges. Our Behind the Scenes tours provide a special opportunity to enjoy a private viewing of the garden when the garden is normally closed to the public. You will gain insight into the making of the Great Dixter borders with one of the garden team plus a view into the propagation work in the nursery.
The first part of the afternoon will be led by a member of the garden team who will take you on a gentle exploration of the borders and meadow areas to examine the borders during the closed season as the work has just begun to create next year’s display. Plenty of time will be given to look around, take photos and ask questions.
Towards the end of the afternoon, the nursery team will introduce you to what they are growing this month, some of the techniques used and be able to provide further information on any plants of interest spotted in the garden.
There will be a break with light refreshments part way through the tour.
