Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are welcome on the wider estate but unfortunately only Guide dogs are allowed in the garden.
When are you open?
We are open from 26 March 2024 until 31 October 2024, from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on a Monday unless it is a Bank Holiday Monday) from 11am until 5pm (last entry to the House 4.30pm).
The House and Gardens will re-open on 1 April 2025.
Great Dixter Nurseries
The Nursery is currently open to visitors every day from 9 am to 5 pm.
Great Dixter Shop
The Shop is now open during normal opening hours. Please visit our online shop for a lovely selection of tools, books, seeds, clothing, and more.
Can I bring my guide dog puppy in training?
Guide dog puppies in training (and indeed Guide dogs) are welcome so long as they are wearing their training vest and documentation is provided at the kiosk.
Do I have to buy a ticket if I just want to visit the house?
Yes. Tickets are for House and Garden entry. Tickets are not available for House only entry or Garden only entry.
Do carers get in free of charge?
Yes, so long as they are with the person they are assisting. Please mention to our kiosk staff upon arrival.
Are wheelchairs available to borrow?
Yes please email [email protected] to reserve one. Please also visit our page on accessibility before you visit as the garden is not easy for wheelchair users.
I haven’t received my Annual Ticket / Friends card yet. Can I still visit?
Yes we have records of all new Friends and Annual ticket holders so you can visit without your card if it hasn’t yet arrived
Can I book entry tickets in advance?
No, there is no advance booking. Simply arrive and purchase your tickets from the Ticket Kiosk.
Do I have to buy a ticket to visit the Nursery, Shop and Café?
You can visit the Nursery, Shop and Cafe without buying a ticket to access the house and garden. Please follow the signs to the nursery through the car park.
